Pherson writes, “A May 13, 2022, study by the Institute for Research and Education on Human Rights that tracks right-wing extremism found that 875 of 4,375 Republican state legislators surveyed (about 1 in 5) were members of 789 far-right Facebook groups including groups for white supremacists, anti-abortionists, sovereign citizens, and neo-Confederates.”
