Devin Burghart, President of the Institute for Research and Education on Human Rights, was quoted in the Inlander;

“There’s not a lot of evidence that activism is astroturfed in any way,” Burghart says. “These are local efforts, by and large funded by local individuals who don’t have deep pockets.”

“There is a much higher degree of hostility to local media than there was in the past, because they have these other outlets they can turn to,” says Burghart
